GET READY TO SKYDIVE OVER Newcastle!
HOW TO GET THERE:
You’ll find our Newcastle drop zone at Belmont Airport, nesting between Blacksmiths Beach, Lake Entrance and Lake Macquarie. We’re 30 minutes south of Newcastle CBD and 2 hours north of Sydney. There is parking onsite at Belmont Airport.
If you've booked our free transfer from Sydney, this will bring you right to the Drop Zone.
CHECK IN TIME
Our crew will send through your check in time 1 day prior to your jump. This may be slightly different to the time you originally picked at booking. Please note. this may be due to weather or if there are not enough participants for the time you have booked we may have to move your booking to an alternate time to reduce our carbon footprint on the environment.
Booked a Transfer?
Pick up point is Ultimate Travel – 806 George St, NSW 2000 . Please wait at the bus zone & arrive ten minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time (6:00am for 6:15am pickup). Transfers MUST be booked in advance.
Passengers will need to allow the entire day as all passengers on the transfer must jump before the bus returns. We will provide an estimated time of departure when confirming your booking.
WEATHER
We skydive all year round in Newcastle and you can get a different experience every time you jump.
When it comes to weather, it's best to assume you'll be jumping when scheduled, unless our crew contact you directly. Our friendly team will get in touch with you ASAP if there are any changes to your skydive time.
Low cloud cover, heavy rainfall or high winds can all affect your skydive and these will be assessed by our Drop Zone Safety Officer prior to your big jump. If you haven't heard from us, please assume your jump is going ahead and head to the Drop Zone at your scheduled time.

What to wear?
You'll need to wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily. Flat, enclosed shoes are compulsory such as sneakers or joggers. Please do not wear any boots, high heels or slides (this includes Crocs).
If you're jumping early in the morning or in colder weather, we recommend you bring a jumper and long pants to wear during your skydive.
Unfortunately any headwear such as turbans, beanies and hats won't stay on during freefall - so you'll need to leave these in a safe spot with our staff.
If you wear glasses, we can provide special goggles for you to wear during your skydive that will fit over your normal glasses.
We recommend removing all jewellery before your skydive too so it is best to leave it at home.
Your Skydive safety briefing
Watch our safety video before you arrive to familiarise yourself with the experience and what to expect on the day. It only takes a few minutes, and it’ll help you feel confident and ready to take the leap!

WEIGHT, AGE AND MEDICAL RESTRICTIONS
We do have surcharges and assessments for participants over 94kgs. If you are 110 kgs or more you may not be able to skydive due to safety restrictions, please call us for more information. You can find out more about weight surcharges here.
You have to be a minimum of 16 years old to skydive in Australia. If you are under 18, you need to fill out this indemnity form. The form must be completed by a parent or legal guardian and their photo ID presented for verification. Without the completed form and their photo ID, you will not be able to skydive.
You must notify us prior to your skydive of any medical conditions, injuries or illnesses. Medical conditions which could affect the customer’s safety should be discussed with a doctor to ensure customers are fit to skydive. If required, bring a medical certificate with you from your doctor confirming you are okay to participate in a skydive.
Spectators & landing
We encourage you to bring along a cheer squad to watch your skydive, it's a big deal! Please note however, your exact landing time cannot be guaranteed. Whilst we endeavour to keep spectators informed about the landing location of your skydive, our priority is ensuring your safety and landing locations can sometimes change last minute.
Landing locations are based on safety and weather conditions. Please have your spectators check with staff to make sure they don't miss your big touchdown. There is plenty of room at the Drop Zone for your crew to hang around - even the 4 legged kind (on leash).
Our three Newcastle landing locations include right back at the airport, next to Naru Beach at the other end of the airport, or sometimes right on the sand at Blacksmiths Beach if the weather calls for it.
WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT
Skydiving involves jumping out of a plane (we hope you knew this before booking), and whilst we can't quite describe the unforgettable adrenaline pumping experience that is freefall, there are a few things you can expect.
Equalising - just like when you drive down a hill, and reach altitude in the plane, after freefall your ears may want to equalise. Your tandem instructor can show you how to do this if you get stuck!
You may notice your instructor wearing ear plugs, please note this does not stop ear pain or help with equalising so we do not offer these to customers. Instructors are wearing these as they are around noisy aircraft for long periods of time.
When the parachute deploys, it can be a bit of a jolt - once the parachute is safely deployed your instructor will adjust your straps to make you as comfortable as possible under canopy.
LOCAL AREA INFO
Skydive Newcastle is located in the beautiful Lake Macquarie, the largest coastal saltwater lake in Australia overlooking the dazzling Swansea Channel.
Billycart Coffee is at the entrance of the airport for you to grab a light snack and coffee before your skydiving adventure, or while you are waiting.
It's a breezy quick drive to Swansea town centre, and the beautiful surrounding beaches, Naru Beach overlooking the lake or Black Smiths Beach looking out to the open seas.
There are also plenty of other adventure activities to do in the area too including a scenic helicopter ride with Skyline Aviation, or watch the lake spin below on an aerobatic flight with Matt Hall Racing, or take an introductory flight in a weird-and -wonderful gyroplane or a microlight aircraft with Airborne Flight Training.
